How to Make the Most of Your Graduate/Professional Student Experience: A Faculty Panel

Please join us for the event designed specifically for graduate and professional students in the first two years of their academic program.  This panel will provide tips and information from faculty to assist graduate and professional students in making the most of the their academic experience and maintain their well-being as a student.

   

A faculty panel from diverse disciplines will provide graduate and professional students advice and tips on how to have a productive and successful academic experience.  Panelists will provide tips on how they have maintained their productivity while taking care of their well-being. Additionally, the panelists will share their mentoring and teaching philosophies. A significant portion of the event will be dedicated to answering questions from the audience.

Dan Levy, known for his iconic portrayal of David Rose in Schitt’s Creek, will be joining us for a moderated Q&A via Zoom Webinar on Friday, March 19th at 7PM. He will be discussing his experience with acting, writing, producing, directing, and the joys of working on an Emmy award-winning TV show.

Wellness Wednesday: Thriving Socially - Building Community and Living Your Best Life

As humans, we value building deep connections to other humans to help us connect to our inner being and purpose. We long to build our networks, especially during a time such a graduate school where we are creating a community to support our future personal and professional goals. So how do we foster relationships and build these connections during a global pandemic? During this interactive presentation we will define social wellness, identify strategies for cultivating social wellness during these unprecedented times, share unique university resources to support in your development, and spend time connecting with others.

OUAB in the Kitchen At-Home Edition: Handheld Foods

Join OUAB for OUAB in the Kitchen: At-Home Edition for a chance to cook a meal of your own under the guidance of the Union's own professional chef, Chef Wolf. Following a cooking demonstration by the chef, students will create the menu providing a unique hands-on learning opportunity virtually, from the comfort of their own home. In this fun and interactive environment, students will enjoy a delicious meal and gain useful culinary skills to show off in their own kitchens. Whether you're are a master chef in your own kitchen or a novice, there is an OUAB in the Kitchen program for you!

    

The menu will feature a grilled chicken and vegetable wrap, and mildly spiced. cilantro marinated Mahi-Mahi street tacos with tomatillo relish.

OUABe Fit - Yoga

The perfect balance of power and relaxation yoga, this vin-yin style yoga class will leave you feeling invigorated and refreshed. The first-half of class will focus on flowing, heat-building postures to challenge your balance, strength and flexibility. The second-half will concentrate on deep stretching and restorative postures. The union of breath and movement will be emphasized throughout class, helping you to maintain focus, release any tension and get deeper into your practice. All levels welcome. 

OUABe Fit - HIIT/Total Body

This high-intensity interval training (HIIT) bodyweight class will challenge your entire body – lower, upper and core! With cardio bursts throughout, you’ll leave feeling sweaty, stronger and ready to take on the rest of your day!
